Kelly Staines Kelly Staines is a female drummer who also writes pop songs, classical percussion pieces, background music for radio, plays Japanese Taiko Drums and teaches composition and performance at TAFE and on remote Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory. Over almost twenty years of playing drums, Kelly has written and performed with groups such as Utungun Percussion, Nightflight to Venus, Taikoz, Peepshow, Skirt, Synergy Percussion and collaborated with artists such as Kev Carmody and The Church. |

Australian Songwriters Conference The Australian Songwriters Conference was held Friday 6th - Monday 9th June 2008 (Queen’s Birthday long weekend) in Sydney. It was a huge success and 2009 looks to be even better. Although songwriting camps and conferences are regularly held overseas, particularly in the USA, there has never been a conference of this scope, designed specifically for songwriters, held in Australia. |
